Oh man, hello friends! How have you been? I’ve been…absent, obviously.
I am going to try and get more consistent with blog posts. Over the last six months I have sort of been avoiding writing. Honestly, I’ve been avoiding all social media.
When I lost my job, I fell in to a bit of a depression and just didn’t have the heart to write or post very often. You know how sometimes you look at what you’re supposed to be doing from across the room, and you get a huge wave of anxiety about it, then find every reason in the world to put off doing it? It was basically like that for a really long time.
I feel like I am finally coming back from it though. I found a new job that I am loving so far, and that is completely in line with what I wanted for my career path. While being unemployed ended up plunging me in to a depression, I am so grateful for the time that I had to turn inwards. I learned a lot about myself, what I really value, and what I am willing to put up with. I understand that many people who leave or lose their jobs do not have the luxury, or the time for self reflection. It can be absolutely devastating, and the severity of the situation is not lost on me. I am incredibly privileged to have a supportive husband, with a job that could support the both of us while I figured my shit out.
While I haven’t been posting, I actually have been creating content over the last few months. There are so many things that I would love to share with you guys. I have three amazing trips on the books, and some shoots in gorgeous locations throughout the state that I have shot with my sister, and other amazing photographers. So I think my game plan for the next few months will be to start sharing those! I enjoy writing my travel posts the most, so it feels like a great way to tip toe back in to posting regularly.
I’m going to wrap this up, but I just wanted to say “thank you so much” to all of you that have stuck it out, and are still following. Paying attention to your mental health is so important, and I am very grateful for having had the opportunity to take some time for that, without it being detrimental to my blog!
Thank you so much guys, I’m so excited to be back!
