Today, I want to tell you about one of the coolest spots I’ve ever stayed at in Washington!

Its called the Sou’Wester Lodge, and its located in the tiny coastal town of Seaview. Its a collection of refurbished vintage trailers, RV spots, and campsites. They also have the cutest community building, which sports a full library of records and VHS’s that you can check out, a big shared kitchen, bikes that you can check out and ride (which how we got most of these photos), and the cutest little store that is full of everything you need for your stay on the property. On top of that, its a five minute walk to both the ocean, and the restaurants and bars.

I first stayed at the Sou’Wester for my bachelorette party back in 2016. My bridesmaids seriously could not have picked a better spot! This sort of place is right up my ally, I love all things kitschy vintage, and the Sou’Wester is just full of them. Its even got an on site thrift store! My five ladies and I were all able to comfortably fit in their African Queen Trailer. Even better than that my four dude friends (who also came on my bachelorette party, it wouldn’t have felt right without my bros there too), and us six ladies were all able to hang out in it comfortably.

Nick and I decided that for our anniversary trip this year, we wanted to to take the van on another road trip. We decided on taking it down to the coast to Cannon Beach, and the Sou’Wester was the first place that popped in to my head as a pit stop for the night. The van fit in perfectly with all the vintage trailers, and since we stayed in an RV spot, we even had power running in to it!

It was once again a perfect spot. Seaview had grown a little bit since the last time I was there, so there was even a spot for a romantic date night dinner right next door to the Sou’Wester! If you find yourself in that area, I HIGHLY recommend checking out The Depot Restaurant. The food was incredible, and the staff was so nice. Plus the place is super cute, and has a great outdoor area!

One of our other favorite places that we visited was North Jetty Brewing. They have excellent beer, and the bartenders were all super nice. They were even having a bar trivia night on our first night in town (I’m a sucker for a good bar trivia)! We got second to last, but we had fun anyways.

Before we left town, we wanted to make sure that we made time to check out some bikes and ride along the trail that runs parallel to the ocean. It poured for most of the day, but luckily we were able to catch about an hour break in the weather for a ride. It was so much fun! The trail runs through all this beautiful beach grass (not sure what its actually called), and has some great views of the coastline. Since it was raining earlier, we ended up having the path to ourselves for the most part. I was even able to set up my camera and use the self timer to get some photos with Nick! I’m actually so happy with how they turned out! Usually when we travel, Nick is the one behind the camera, so it was really awesome to have some good photos of the two of us together.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get many photos in Cannon Beach. We met up with one of our friends that lives in Oregon, and had such a great time catching up that it completely slipped my mind! I suppose that just means that I’ll have to go back and visit some day so that I can make a proper post about it!

Darn.
